My name is Eva Erhart and I am the creator of The Sleeping Beetle. This little corner of the internet is where my love for colors, creatures, and creative chaos comes to rest – and maybe a bit of it will find its way to you.

My Story
Sometimes the path isn’t straight – but that’s exactly what makes it feel alive.
I’m in my mid-twenties and come from an art education background – but these days, I prefer to follow the direction of brushes, colors, and imagination. After studying to become a teacher of art and mathematics at the University of Art and Design Linz and the Johannes Kepler University, I worked briefly as a teacher at a middle school. But I’ve left the school routine behind to shape my life more freely and in line with my own dreams.
Today, I work part-time as a chef in a small vegan café – and spend the rest of my time creating a life that feels true to me: creative, vibrant, and full of space to explore and grow.
I love bringing odd, whimsical characters to life with pencils and brushes, or capturing landscapes in color – sceneries I’ve encountered on my travels.
To me, imagination is something magical – it allows us to see the world through different eyes, and to share with others how we perceive it ourselves.
In the act of creating, we recreate ourselves – again and again.
My love for teaching has stayed with me – it’s just taken on a new shape.
